NCCP EC Coaching Evaluation Dates:
Calgary: July 26 or 27
Edmonton: July 29
Expect 4-6 hours per candidate for each evalution.

PreRequisites - required 45 days prior to Coaching Evaluation
1. EC Registered Coach Status Required
To become an NCCP EC Licensed Instructor or an NCCP Licensed Competition Coach you must first register as an EC Registered Coach.
It is fairly straighforward to become an EC Registered Coach, however, it does take some time to ensure you have all the appropriate courses and forms uploaded to Equestion Canada - so give yourself at least 30 days to complete this process - you will need Standard First Aid Certification, Insurance, BackGround Checks, Several Online courses, as well as letters of reference - these things can take some time!

2. NCCP EC Certified Instructor Requirements
The instructor level is designed to introduce people to the sport and does not take students to competitions.
- Candidate must be 16 years of age or older
- Rider Level 6 Achieved (or Pony Club Full Stream C2 Certification)
- Equestrian Canada Active Registered Coach Status (See #1 Above)
- Provincial Sport Organization (PTSO) Membership (ie: AEF for Alberta)
Inform your PTSO of your intention
- Pass NCCP EC Certified Instructor Evaluation consisting of 4 parts:
a. Plan a practice for beginner athletes and develop an Emergency Action Plan.
b. Support athletes in training by teaching lessons.
c. Analyze performance of beginner athletes.
d. Make ethical decisions.
3. NCCP EC Certified Competition Coach Requirements
The competition coach is designed to improve riders skills, introduce riders to competitions and may take riders to provincial and national competitions.
- Candidate must be 18 years of age or older
- Rider Level 8 Achieved (or Pony Club Full Stream B Certification)
- Equestrian Canada Active Registered Coach Status (See #1 Above)
- Provincial Sport Organization Membership (ie: AEF for Alberta)
- Pass NCCP EC Licensed Competition Coach Evaluation consisting of 4 parts:
a. Plan a practice for competition introduction level athletes and develop and emergency plan.
b. Support athletes in training by coaching lessons.
c. Analyze performance of introduction level athletes.
d. Make ethical decisions.

EC Coaching Evaluation
RSVP here for free now to be scheduled for a EC Certified Instructor or EC Certified Competition Coach evaluation. It is free to register, actual costs of the evaluations will be split between the candidates. The cost for testing will be the actual cost of the Facility Rental, Examiners, and Registration Certificates, less any sponsorships we receive, divided by the number of participants. Please expect cost to be in range of $250-$500.
